PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — The Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department recently celebrated the success of one of their members in the Calvert County Career and Technology Academy. Nicholas Boswell, a PFVFD member, was recognized as the Cadet of the Month in the academy.

The department posted the following message on social media:

“The Cadet member of the month for the Firefighter/EMT Cadet Program at the Calvert County Career and Technology Academy (CTA), is Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department’s Nicholas Boswell. Boswell is recognized through the CTA Calvert County school system for excelling in the program and growing each week.

CTA Program teacher, Marquis Smith, had this to say about Cadet Boswell who currently attends Patuxent High School, “In December Cadet Boswell worked very hard pushing through Mod-2. He attended several study sessions and is working hard to learn all knots and skills. Cadet Boswell can consistently be found at the Fire Department learning and supporting operations. Great Job Boswell!!”

Nicholas Boswell’s dad, who is PFVFD Senior Member Ryan Boswell, knows his son can achieve anything in life, “Proud is an understatement. Whether it’s at the firehouse or playing one of the many sports for high school, he puts his mind to it and crushes it. Can’t wait to see what the future has in store for him.”

Smith concludes, “Thank you to each Volunteer fire station in Calvert County for their specific support with student needs from transportation to study groups. This forward program progress would not be possible without all of the support from these and more stakeholders!”

Excellent work Nicholas Boswell, we are lucky to have a volunteer like you.”
