Law enforcement in Charles County are asking for the public’s help in finding Robert Lamar Stickel, a 47-year-old Nanjemoy man wanted on sexual assault charges.

An investigation by Special Victims Unit detectives has revealed that on Oct. 23 about 9 p.m., Stickel raped an adult female family member after forcing her into his truck and driving her to a remote location.

The woman, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, managed to escape to a nearby home where she reported the crime to police.

Detectives obtained the warrant for Stickel’s arrest on Oct. 24 and have been searching for him since.

Stickel is believed to be in the Nanjemoy or White Plains area. Stickel is listed on the Web site as one of Charles County’s 10 most wanted criminals.

Stickel is a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 180 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. His picture shows him with a beard but detectives have information indicating he may now have a goatee.

Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to Stickel’s arrest. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. All callers remain anonymous.

Those with information may also call the La Plata District Station at 301-932-2222, the Indian Head District Station at 301-743-2222 or the Waldorf District Station at 301-932-7777. Det. J. Pratta is investigating.
