At 10:34 p.m. July 8, DFC Shawn Morder responded to a home on Cincinnati Ave in North Beach for a robbery report.

The victim advised that she parked in her driveway and exited her car that evening at 10:20 p.m. and was walking toward her house when an unknown suspect grabbed her purse and ran.

The purse was later located in the street, nothing appeared to be missing. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Shawn Morder at 410-535-2800.

Dog Dead
At 5:56 p.m. July 9, Dep. Robert Burggraff responded to a home on East Range Road in Lusby. The victim reported that when he returned home from work that day at about 5:15 p.m., he found that his dog kennel cage had been moved and his rottweiler inside the cage, dead.

The water bowl had been knocked over and it appears the animal may have died from lack of water and the excessive heat, police say.

Burglary
On July 13 at 2:48 P.M. DFC Marty McCarroll responded to a burglary call at a home on Brookside Drive in Chesapeake Beach.ย  The victim reported that between 4:45 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. that day, unknown suspect(s) broke into his shed and stole a blue and white 2004 Yamaha Raptor ATV valued at $5,400.

Investigation revealed a juvenile male suspect, 17 of Chesapeake Beach, who admitted his involvement and was charged on a youth report with burglary.ย  The juvenile advised that he sold the ATV to an unknown person.ย  He was detained in a juvenile detention facility pending his initial court appearance.

Theft
A victim reported to Dep. Robert Burggraff that his white and aqua blue colored 1982 Honda moped was stolen when it was parked near Stoneyโ€™s Restaurant in Broomes Island on July 15 between 11:00 p.m. and midnight.ย  The moped has a blue milk crate and an orange farm triangle reflector attached to the rear.ย  It is estimated to be worth $1500.ย  A $200 motorcycle helmet is also missing.ย  Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Window Bashed
A victim advised Dep. Thomas Rickard on July 9 that his vehicle was parked outside of the Apex Cinemas at 200 Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick at about 7:05 p.m.ย  When he returned at 9:30 p.m. he observed that the driverโ€™s side window had been shattered.ย  Nothing appeared to be missing from inside the vehicle.ย  The damage is estimated at $140.ย  Dep. Rickard will continue the investigation.

Thefts from Vehicles
Dep. Brian Wendland took a report from a victim on 30th Street in Chesapeake Beach on July 10 that a Sony Explode car stereo had been stolen from his unlocked vehicle sometime over night.ย  The stereo is valued at $200.ย  Anyone with information can contact Dep. Wendland at 410-535-2800.

Another victim on 29th Street also reported her unlocked vehicle had been entered overnight and two pair of designer sunglasses, valued at $700, had been stolen.ย  Dep. Wendland is also handling this investigation.

A third victim on Dayton Ave in North Beach reported to Dep. Wendland that $800 worth of items, a cell phone, a Sony bazooka tube and amplifier and an Ugly Stick fishing rod had all been stolen from his unlocked vehicle during the same time frame.
