The Calvert and St. Mary’s County Department of Public Works, and Calvert County Citizens Green Team in conjunction with the University of Maryland Extension Program are offering workshops during the Calvert Green Expo on the practical uses for rain barrels and how they reduce the impact of runoff on our local waterways and Chesapeake Bay.
The workshops will take place Saturday, June 1, at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the Ann Marie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, 13480 Dowell Rd., Dowell, Maryland 20629.
There is no cost for the workshops. Participants will have the opportunity to purchase rain barrels and learn the technique for later installation at home. Workshops are approximately 45 minutes in length.
Preregistration closed Thursday, May 30, however, walk-up registration is available.
