PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – April 5, 2017 – The Calvert County Department of Public Safety’s Division of Emergency Management conducted a full-cycle test of 73 alert and notification sirens throughout Calvert, St. Mary’s and Dorchester counties Monday, April 3. All of the sirens, with the exception of one in Dorchester County and the one on Parkers Wharf Road in St. Leonard, performed as expected.
Repair work has been completed. The siren in Dorchester County has been fixed. The siren on Parkers Wharf Road will be retested Friday, April 7 at 3 p.m. The full-cycle test includes a 3-minute activation. Residents living within one mile of the affected siren will also receive a phone message about the second test.
