On Oct. 18 at 2:57 a.m., Sdfc. Patrick Handy initiated a vehicle stop in the area of Lexington Court in Lexington Park.
The passenger in the vehicle, John Otha Dickens Jr., 19 of Lexington Park, began yelling profanities at the deputies as they made contact with the vehicle operator. Dickens was instructed several times to discontinue his actions or he would be arrested. Dickens continued his actions causing the attention of Sdfc. Handy to be diverted from the vehicle operator. Dickens continued to yell profanities for no apparent reason and was placed under arrest.
Dickens was charged with hindering a police investigation and incarcerated in the detention center pending a bond review by the District Court Commissioner.
