The St. Mary’s County Department of Recreation and Parks announces that the River Springs Public Landing located off MD Route 242, on River Springs Road, in Avenue, Maryland will be closed temporarily for pier replacement. The pier will remain closed until about October 5, 2012.
St. Mary’s County Recreation and Parks wishes to thank all citizens for their patience during the construction period and believes the necessary upgrades will provide increased public access to our County’s waterways. The public is reminded that nearby Paul Ellis Landing and Bushwood Wharf are open and available during the period River Springs Landing is closed.
The piers at Fox Harbor and St. George’s Island public landings are also scheduled to be replaced this fall. The Fox Harbor project is expected to begin on October 8, 2012 and the St. George’s Island project is expected to begin on or about November 5, 2012.
