The Calvert County Shop With a Cop Program announces its’ annual fundraiser. From 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, a bull roast will be held at the Calvert County Fairgrounds.
The Calvert County Shop With a Cop program was started last year by Solomons, St.. Leonard, and Prince Frederick Calvert Optimist Clubs along with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office and FOP Lodge 109 to raise funds to help needy children at Christmas. Last year, eighteen children were taken on a shopping spree.
The shopping trip is scheduled for December 8 and this year’s goal is fifty children. Also involved this year will be the Maryland State Police, Maryland Troopers Association Lodge 1, and The Maryland Natural Resources Police FOP Lodge 8.
For just a $25 ticket, the bull roast will feature an “all you can eat” buffet of sliced beef, BBQ beef, hot dogs, potato salad, coleslaw and corn on the cob. Draft beer will also be provided.
