Ronald Eugene Kent, Jr.

Ronald Eugene Kent, Jr., passed away on May 1, 2026, in Waldorf, Maryland. He was born on December 12, 1963, in Washington, D.C., to the late Ronald Eugene Kent, Sr. and Catherine L. Kent.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry William Kent.

Ron was a talent in all trades, from a mail manager in government, to a self-employed computer repair technician, a photographer of nature, moon, and stars, and he built and repaired guitars, was also a guitar teacher at one time, who took pride in all his work and independence. He was a gifted guitar player who had been playing since he was 12 years old and loved Elvis. He loved all types and ages of music and played in rock bands through his high school years with his guitar and took pride knowing, as a close friend, singing and playing guitar and or bass with the late singer, artist Eva Cassidy from Bowie, Maryland, where he graduated high school. He was known for his time as a radio personality, appearing as “Elfish” and “David Lee Kinisin” on the Ron and Fez show with them and CoolGuy on XM Radio. He lived hard, played hard, and did everything to maximum levels.  Guitar and music were his favorite in life.  Often played in different bands through the years and sang for fun on Smule app with many.

Later, he found Jesus and became a devoted Christian. He found great joy in expressing his faith and love for Jesus. He shared his thoughts on his YouTube channel, and often when out and about at grocery stores, or doctor offices, or anywhere he was, he would hand people little Jesus’s and remind them, “Everyone needs a little Jesus.”  He became an important family member at Calvary Chapel Church in Charlotte Hall, where he joined the worship team and played guitar during church services, and did Bible study every week.

Ron had a unique and heartfelt way of sharing his beliefs with others.  He was often seen standing at Charlotte Hall Circle holding a “Jesus Loves You” sign, spreading love, kindness, and encouragement to all who passed by.  Often being known as “The Jesus man” who was loved by so many, especially the youth on school buses and family cars that would pass and yell to him, “Jesus loves you too!”

He is and will be missed by the community and by all who knew him personally as family and friends.

His favorite charities were to The Chosen to help fund the filming of our Lord, and also to Under Ground Railroad (UGR), which helped and helps save children from sex trafficking.

A memorial service will be provided for all to attend at Calvary Chapel Church in Charlotte Hall, Maryland, on June 13th at 10 am for all able or wanting to attend.

May he rest in peace, knowing his life was a gift to many, especially in the eyes of the Lord.
