On July 19, 2010 at 6:54 p.m., Trooper First Class Merkelson responded to West Lake Blvd. in Prince Frederick for a reported assault.
Investigation revealed that, following a traffic dispute on Route 4, the parties involved pulled over on West Lake Blvd and exited their vehicles. During the argument Steven E. Yatsko, 41 of Greer, South Carolina, struck the victim about the face, head and back numerous times.
Yatsko was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
The victim went to CMH with minor injuries and was treated and released.
