At 12:25 a.m. on Nov. 11, a vehicle traveling on Mattawoman-Beantown Road at Pinefield Road was stopped because the driver was not wearing his seat belt.
Upon contact with the driver, an odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia on the passenger in the vehicle, Cody Lamar Hizer, 19, of Waldorf.
Cody Hizer was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was incarcerated in the Charles County Detention Center pending a bond review.
