January 16 crash in Hollywood MD

ย Hollywood, MD – A motorist who was trapped inside a motor vehicle that had struck a pole was flown to a trauma center after crews freed the unidentified individual from the wreckage, St. Maryโ€™s fire and rescue officials reported. The single-vehicle crash occurred Monday, Jan. 16 shortly before 5 p.m. at the intersection of Three Notch Road and Sotterley Road in Hollywood.

A report from the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department (Company 7) stated the driver was โ€œseverely pinnedโ€ as a result of the impact. โ€œAll units went to work removing the driverโ€™s side door and roof,โ€ the reported stated. โ€œThe driverโ€™s legs were pinned under the dash so units performed a dash lift to free the driver. The extrication took 30 minutes from the time of dispatch to complete.โ€

The injured driver was taken to a landing zone set up at the nearby fire station. Maryland State Police Trooper 7 transported the injured motorist to Prince Georgeโ€™s Trauma Center.

Northbound traffic on Three Notch Road was diverted onto Mervell Dean Road and then onto Old Three Notch Road while emergency crews and police were on the scene.

Hollywood, MD – At approximately 4:35 p.m., a serious automobile accident was reported on Three Notch Road and Sotterley Roads in the area of Hollywood.

Emergency vehicles are on the scene of the motor vehicle. A subject has sustainedย serious injuries. ย 

Units had to perform a heavy extrication to remove the subject from the vehicle. A helicopter is currently in route for flyout.

Motorists are advised to use caution. Northbound traffic is being diverted onto Mervell Dean Road.ย
