Leonardtown, MD – My name is Shadow and I am a three year old neutered Shepherd mix. I weigh 55 pounds, which is the perfect size-not too small, not too big. I love the children at my foster home and when it is time for them to wake up, their Mom sends me in their room to lick their face until she knows they are awake. Oh how much I love to give kisses! The children at my foster home are 11 and it is unknown how I would be with much smaller kids, so I have to go to a home with kids 10+.
My foster Mom says that my name is fitting, because I like to follow her around everywhere just like her very own Shadow. I already know some basic commands like sit and give paw, and am working on the come command. Also, this this is probably the best-I am house trained.
Before coming to SMAWL, I was not socialized with other dogs, so sometimes they scare me and I need a long time to warm up to them. But I am slowly getting this doggy play thing down with my foster brother. He is a large dog which I like to be around better, sorry I can’t go to a home with a small dog. Also my foster Mom says I have a high pray drive (whatever that is- all I know is I wish I could catch those dag-gone squirrels running around the yard ), so she says I also can’t go to a forever home with a cat.
If you are interested, and do not have cats, your kids are 10 or older, and no dogs smaller than me, please fill out an application!
