MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — Lace up your running shoes and bring a bit of Irish luck along for the ride as the first-ever R&P Shamrock 5K Fun Run makes its debut on Sunday, March 15, at the scenic Wicomico Shores Golf Course.
Designed with fun in mind, the family-friendly event invites runners and walkers of all ages to enjoy a Shamrock-themed route that winds through the golf course. The mostly paved course offers sweeping views of the greens, with a few natural-path sections adding to the relaxed, outdoor experience.
Participants who are 21 and older can look forward to a festive post-race perk: a complimentary golden lager beverage voucher, redeemable at the Riverview Restaurant, located right on the golf course. It’s a fitting way to toast a morning well spent.
While the run is unofficially timed, all paid finishers will receive a commemorative medal to mark the occasion. Those who register by March 1 are also guaranteed their preferred size in the event’s commemorative T-shirt.
Beyond the fun and festivities, the Shamrock 5K serves a meaningful purpose. All proceeds will benefit the R&P Youth Scholarship Fund, supporting opportunities for local youth in the community.
