On October 7, 2010, at approximately 8 p.m., Calvert County Sheriff Mike Evans presented a plaque to the Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department for their heroic action that took place September 9, 2010 with the extrication of Calvert County Deputy Esposito from his police cruiser as a result of collision.
Both the Sheriff and Deputy Esposito expressed how grateful they were for the action taken by all of the volunteers on the call. Members of the Huntingtown VFD, other Sheriff’s Deputies, Commissioners,family and friends were present.
Those members mentioned for their action were: Chief Jonathan Riffe, Assistant Chief Michael Montgomery, Deputy Chief Philip Morris, Safety Officer Bo McKenny, Lieutenant Josh Buckler, Michael Montgomery Jr., Dylan Smith, Donald Wallace, Hunter Stewart, Gene Farrell, Sean Fitzgerald, Josh Miller and Andrea Osbourn.
