The St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Office, in cooperation with the St. Maryโ€™s County Board of Education and the Maryland State Highway Safety Office, will sponsors a FREE Child Safety Seat Check Point at Margaret Brent Middle School on Thursday, April 30, from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.ย

Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among children ages 3 to 14 in the United States. In 2008 an average of 5 children, ages 14 and younger, were killed and an additional 568 children were injured in motor vehicle crashes each day across the Nation.ย  Even a sudden stop can seriously injure a child who is not riding securely in the proper type of child safety seat.ย

Are you and your child passengers properly restrained while traveling in a motor vehicle?ย ย  On April 30, let our certified Child Safety Seat Technicians check, fix and educate you on how to properly secure and transport children.
