SOLOMONS, Md. — The Solomons Business Association hosts the annual 4th of July fireworks celebration and the Christmas Walk. This year has been difficult to raise funding due to various reasons. Two Calvert County locals refused to let the tradition of Solomons, Maryland’s 4th of July celebration fizzle out. Fueled by a passion for their hometown and a spark of determination, they rallied neighbors, partnered with local businesses, and ignited a movement.
They turned to beloved local businesses—like Calvert Kettle Corn of Charlotte Hall and Chesapeake Beach, and Brrrr Ice Cream, Shakes & Crepes—not just for support, but as instruments of hope. Fundraisers were hosted, dollars collected, and awareness spread—all with grit, heart, and a whole lot of hustle.
“Fireworks on the 4th of July aren’t just about lights in the sky—they’re about who we are as a community. We weren’t going to let that be taken away,” said Adam Tremper, owner of Spooky Solomons.
With generous support from the people of Calvert County and dedicated business sponsors, the grassroots team didn’t just meet their fundraising goal—they surpassed the $42,000 minimum needed to make the show happen. Their story is proof that even in uncertain times, unity can outshine adversity.
