SOLOMONS, Md. — Solomons Inn Resort + Marina is turning its waterfront space into a hub for giving back, offering the community two opportunities to support local kids. On Saturday, Sept. 6, and Sunday, Sept. 7, the resort will host a Toys for Tots fundraiser yard sale and welcome the Calvert Tide 11U baseball team for a car wash, giving neighbors a chance to make a difference close to home.
Giving Back Through Toys for Tots
The community yard sale kicks off bright and early each day, giving locals a chance to grab a coffee, hunt for deals and support a great cause all at once. On Saturday, the yard sale runs from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Every dollar raised goes to Toys for Tots, helping ensure children in Southern Maryland wake up to the joy of the holiday season no matter their circumstances.
For the past 10 years, Solomons Inn has proudly supported Toys for Tots fundraising events, giving neighbors a way to contribute and help local children. Along with this weekend’s fundraiser, Solomons Inn will host a toy drive on the Friday before Thanksgiving, creating another opportunity for the community to come together to support kids in Southern Maryland.
Supporting Local Youth Sports
On Saturday, Sept. 6, from noon to 2 p.m., visitors can also swing by the Calvert Tide 11U baseball team car wash. The fundraiser directly supports the players, helping cover the costs of uniforms, travel and team expenses. With buckets, sponges and plenty of team spirit, the kids will be out working hard — giving the community a chance to cheer them on while driving away with a sparkling clean car.
At the foot of the Thomas Johnson Bridge, Solomons Inn has grown into more than just a place to stay. Weddings, celebrations, live music and community fundraisers have made the resort a natural gathering spot for neighbors. Hosting these types of events reflects its ongoing commitment to giving back to the community.
