LEXINGTON PARK, Md. โ As of Tuesday morning at roughly 10 a.m., the Maryland Department of Health(MDH) is confirming a total of 9,472 cases of the novel coronavirus(COVID-19) across the state of Maryland, while there are going to be more results that are presumably still waiting to be confirmed.
This new total means there are 536 newly confirmed cases in the past 24 hours.

Of the confirmed cases, over 2,122 people have ever been hospitalized, and 147 of those were recorded in the past day.
607 previously infected people have been released from their isolation according to MDH, just four of which have been recorded in the past day.
40 people in the state have died from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the stateโs death toll unfortunately up to 302.
Negative test results also grew, with at least 1,446 negative confirmations in the past day, bring that total to 44,261.
At this time, there are at least 499 officially confirmed cases in the Southern Maryland region. Charles County saw their previously confirmed total of 274 cases rise to 292. In Calvert County, MDH has confirmed five more official cases overnight, bringing their total up to 99.
St. Maryโs County now counts cases on a rolling basis, and records from the county show a total of 108 cases now, which is up four from Monday’s update.

A majority of the positive cases across the state are still found in Montgomery County and Prince George’s County. PG County has the most cases of any county in the state, with an overnight increase of at least 151 cases bringing the total to 2,356.
Since yesterday, Montgomery County saw an increase of at least 127 newly recorded cases, bringing their total to at least 1,883.
Anne Arundel County has also confirmed 59 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing their official total to 783.
On April 13, the total number of confirmed cases by the Maryland Department of Health was at least 8,945. As of April 14, that recorded number is at least 9,482, showing over a 6% increase across the state in the past 24 hours. This is the first single digit increase in at least one week, following lowered increases across the state.
