On Tuesday, January 30, at 1:39 am, TFC Linger observed a 1997 Mercury Cougar traveling southbound Rt. 5 in the area of Rt. 236 in Charlotte Hall exceeding the posted speed limit.
A routine traffic stop was initiated and contact with the driver, Ibithihaj Shahidah Brooks, 28, of Chaptico. TFC Linger observed in plain view marijuana in the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, TFC Linger found a partially burnt marijuana cigar.
Ms. Brooks was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where a cellophane bag of marijuana was found on her person. She was incarcerated pending a bond review.
