Hughesville, Maryland – The Southern Maryland Association of REALTORS® (SMAR) is pleased to announce that David M. Jenkins has been selected as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Jenkins will succeed Jann Clark, RCE, who is retiring after 12 years as CEO.

SMAR President John Coller commented “We thank Jann for her dedication and leadership, guiding the organization during turbulent economic times and wish her all the best. We look forward to working with David in the coming years.”

Jenkins brings over thirty years of varied experience in both the private and public/ non-profit sectors in land planning, community and economic development. He has graduate degrees in City/Regional Planning (Catholic University) and Business Administration (Loyola University-Baltimore).  He is also a veteran, having served 38 years in US Army, Maryland Army National Guard, with assignments as battalion and brigade level Command Sergeant Major (E-9). Jenkins has resided in La Plata since 1986.
