The Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland, the Southern Maryland Workforce Investment Board, and the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation are pleased to announce the grand opening of the Southern Maryland JobSource career centers.
The Southern Maryland Workforce Investment Board has been working over the past year to develop and improve the region’s one-stop career center service delivery system.  In addition to these systems improvements, we have developed a new name and logo.  The Southern Maryland JobSource, formerly Southern Maryland Workforce Services is pleased to invite you to come learn about the various programs in your community available to prepare our workforce and to assist with employment needs.  Additionally, you won’t want to miss the exciting unveiling of our new Mobile Career Center.  This 38’ mobile center features 11 computer workstations, smart board instructional technology, satellite internet access, exterior audio visual and broadcasting capabilities; state of the art workforce applications and connectivity for wireless mobile device access.  “We are proud to bring this type of resource to the Southern Maryland community, providing access to technology and much needed employment information to individuals and organizations in need,” stated Joe Slater, Chairman of the Southern Maryland Workforce Investment Board.
 
The Mobile Career Center is part of the enhanced service delivery system of the Southern Maryland JobSource.  In collaboration with community agencies, the Mobile Career Center will be available at various community events, be used to provide training for businesses and their employees, serve as a resource to our area county governments in event of emergencies, and used for the delivery of information and resources related to employment and skills development.
