At 1:29 p.m. July 10, the Bay District and Ridge volunteer firefighters responded to a house fire at

19770 Carter Lane in Spring Ridge.

Bay District Fire Sergeant Jeff Evans reports crews responded under the direction of Chief 9B(Rooty Jones) to find a single story modular home with a working fire to side “A”. Crews immediatley got a knock on the fire.

Ridge Volunteers arrived and completed the water supply and assisted the crews with extinguishment and primary and secondary searches. The crew from Engine 33 pulled a 1 3/4 line into the structure and found a small slow burning fire in the kitchen and dining room area and also under the house in the craw-space.

The crews from Engine 43 and Engine 91 pulled the backup line and knocked the fire underneath the modular home.

With the updated status of the fire, dispatched called off the alert calling numerous other fire departments including, Hollywood, 7th district, and Valley Lee.

Units cleared the scene at 3:15 p.m. The fire is under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshall’s Office.
