Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Michael J. Martirano, announces the administrative appointment made by the Board of Education at its meeting of July 12.
The Board appointed Ms. Deanna Mingo to the position of assessment specialist in the Department of Academic Support.
She most recently served as the elementary academy director (assistant principal) of Friendship-Edison Schools Inc. in Washington, D.C. Her experience also includes serving as a lead classroom teacher and a teacher recruitment coordinator with the same organization.
Ms. Mingo earned her Master of Science degree in education administration/principalship from Trinity College, and both a Bachelor of Science degree in health education and a Bachelor of Arts certificate in gerontology from the University of the District of Columbia.
This appointment becomes effective immediately.
