
UPDATE – 5/29/2025 – Hollywood Man Apprehended Following Escape From Pre-Trial Release
LEONARDTOWN, Md. – The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the whereabouts of Andrew Phillip Nelson, 29, of Hollywood, MD, for escape.
On April 21, 2025, Deputies responded to the 43000 block of Saint Johns Road in Hollywood for a tampering alarm on a GPS monitoring device assigned to Nelson. Upon arrival, deputies located the monitoring device, and a witness reported that they had observed Nelson using bolt cutters to remove it.
Nelson was on pre-trial release while facing charges of first- and second-degree assault.
The suspect is a white male and is 5’11”, 180 pounds, with blue eyes and sandy blonde hair.
