LEONARDTOWN, Md. — St. Mary’s County Public Schools is looking to bolster its teaching staff with an upcoming job fair set for March 29, 2025, officials announced at Wednesday’s Board of Education meeting.
With a focus on high-need positions such as special education, the district hopes to attract new educators through direct interviews with school staff. “In some cases, candidates may receive a job offer on-site,” Scott said.
The hiring push comes amid a nationwide teacher shortage, with Maryland districts seeking to fill key positions before the next school year. The event will feature representatives from all local schools and provide prospective employees a chance to learn about benefits and career advancement opportunities.
