St. Maryโ€™s Hospitalโ€™s Marketing and Public Relations Department recently earned the nationally recognized Gold Aster Award for the hospitalโ€™s quarterly community newsletter, Healthy Living. ย More than 90,000 Southern Maryland residents receive the publication that is intended to inform and educate the community about health and health services.ย ย
This is the production teamโ€™s first-ever Gold Aster Award for Healthy Living, although numerous awards were earned previously for other projects. ย The Aster Award program is an elite competition recognizing the nationโ€™s most talented healthcare marketing professionals for outstanding excellence in advertising. ย Sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report, the healthcare advertising awards competition is the oldest, largest and most widely respected.
โ€œI am consistently pleased with the quality of work produced by the marketing team at the hospital,โ€ said Holly Meyer, director of marketing and public relations. ย โ€œThe level of effort they put into producing highly creative and quality materials that share the hospitalโ€™s commitment to excellence in the health programs and services we provide to the community, makes me extremely proud.โ€
In addition to Meyer, the Marketing and Public Relations Department is comprised of six other employees โ€“ Amanda Bowie, Ruby Hawks, Jeni Irwin, Linda Lagle, Jane Loughran and Nicki Strickland โ€“ and longtime volunteer Lorena Goeller. ย Special recognition is also given to Jaclyn Bardin, a former writer in the department.ย ย ย
