The Maryland Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) will be presenting an Appreciation Award to the Board of Commissioners for St. Maryโ€™s County on Tuesday, June 12 at 9 a.m. during the Boardโ€™s Weekly meeting in Room 14 at the Governmental Center in Leonardtown.

Larry Shanks, Prince Georges County ESGR Chairman, will be representing the Maryland ESGR Committee. The Maryland Committee works closely with Maryland employers and the reserve component units of all services.

St. Maryโ€™s County Government has been named a Top Employer for going “Above and Beyond” the federal requirements in supporting their employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.

During the ceremonies, St. Maryโ€™s County Commissioners will show their continued support for county employees that are members of

the Guard and Reserve by signing ESGR Statements of Support. St.

Maryโ€™s County joins over 600 Maryland employers and local government agencies that have signed Statements of Support this year.
