LEONARDTOWN, Md. – St. Mary’s Ryken High School is pleased to announce the appointment of Tiffany Price as the new Head Varsity Volleyball Coach.
Coach Price brings a unique combination of high-level playing experience, coaching leadership, and a passion for developing student-athletes. Since joining the program in 2024 as an assistant coach, she has most recently served as Interim Head Coach, earning the respect of players, families, and colleagues through her leadership and commitment to the program.
A four-year varsity starter and team captain in high school, Coach Price continued her volleyball career as a four-year Division II collegiate athlete and team captain at Davis & Elkins College. She also competed for four years with Pittsburgh Elite Volleyball Club, where she gained experience in a highly competitive environment focused on discipline, teamwork, and accountability. Coach Price holds a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Davis & Elkins College and an MBA with a concentration in Sport Management from Florida Atlantic University. Her professional background includes roles with the Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Orioles, Bowie Baysox, and the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships.
“Our goal is to build championship programs that develop young women of character, and Tiffany embodies everything we value at St. Mary’s Ryken,” said Steve Howes, Director of Athletics. “She has already made a tremendous impact on our student-athletes through her leadership, energy, and ability to build meaningful relationships. Tiffany understands the importance of creating a culture rooted in accountability, teamwork, and faith, and we are excited to see her lead our volleyball program into its next chapter.”
Coach Price’s coaching philosophy centers on fostering a team-first culture built on trust, communication, accountability, and leadership. She is committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the court while supporting their personal and spiritual growth within the school’s Catholic, Xaverian tradition. She also envisions expanding the program through youth clinics, camps, and community outreach to strengthen volleyball throughout Southern Maryland.
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to lead this program and invest in the lives of these young women,” said Coach Price. “Success will always matter, but our greatest goal is to challenge our student-athletes to become fierce competitors, confident leaders, supportive teammates, and young women of strong character.”
Coach Price continued: “I’m also thrilled to coach alongside Rachel Miller. Coach Miller brings an incredible wealth of coaching experience, a championship mindset, and an outstanding track record of developing athletes. I’m fortunate to share the court with someone whose coaching philosophy aligns so closely with my own. Together, we’re committed to building a culture rooted in accountability, trust, hard work, and genuine care for every athlete who wears an SMR jersey. Together, we’ll create an environment where these young women can thrive both on and off the court. The legacy of our program will be measured by the young women our players become long after they leave the SMR court.”
Coach Price will begin her role immediately as preparations continue for the upcoming volleyball season.
