WALDORF, Md. – On December 7 at 3:35 p.m., the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department responded to a one alarm shed fire discovered by homeowner, Diane Hemphill of Lucy Drive in Waldorf. 

Twenty-four firefighters responded to the call and had it under control in five minutes. The fire is said to have originated on the outside of the shed, causing severe damage to the shed and it’s contents. Minor damage was also caused to the siding of the nearby home. The estimated cost of damage for the loss of structure and contents is $20,000.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
