ANNAPOLIS, MD โย The National Association of State Fire Marshals (NASFM) will be holding its annual conference July 22 through 25 in Annapolis, Maryland courtesy of the Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Offices.
There will be a photo opportunity at the Maryland Fire-Rescue Services Memorial on Monday, July 22 at 9 a.m. with all Fire Marshals attending the conference, followed by The Opening Ceremony which will begin at 10 a.m. at the Westin Annapolis Hotel and feature the following speakers and performances:
- Maryland State Police Honor Guard
- Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Pipes & Drums
- Colonel William M. Pallozzi, Superintendent of Maryland State Police
- Battalion Chief Carroll Spriggs, Commander of the Fire & Explosive Investigations Unit for Annapolis Fire Department
- Annapolis Fire Chief David L. Stokes, Jr.
- City of Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley
- Maryland State Firemen’s Association Chaplin, Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr.
- National Anthem performed by Sgt. Francis Shanks, Maryland State Police
The NASFM annual conference is an opportunity for the membership to come together for four days of networking, business meetings, and presentations covering a variety of topics relative to fire prevention, safety, and security.
The State Fire Marshals also have a chance to meet with vendors to learn first-hand of the latest technology and trends in fire prevention.
The Opening Ceremony will allow for local media outlets to capture a rare moment of the Nation’s Fire Marshals in one location.
