On March 17 at 9:20 a.m., PFC. D. Walker was clearing a traffic stop on Crain Highway at Leonardtown Road when his Agency TAG reader – a device that scans registration plates on passing cars – alerted him of a stolen car in the vicinity. The officer spotted the vehicle and confirmed it had been stolen from Mt. Rainier. Officer Walker initiated a traffic stop near Acton Lane and arrested the driver, Anthony Harold Morris, 43, of Mt. Rainier. During the arrest, officers recovered 16 baggies of suspected marijuana and other drug paraphernalia inside the car. Morris was charged with the unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended.
