
WALDORF, Md. —ย A Waldorf convenience store closed for an hour and a half yesterday evening after the store manager discovered a beeping noise in a trash can.
On Sept. 19, the Prince George’s County Bomb Squad and Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious package left at the Burch Mart convenience store on 10195 Berry Road.
According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal,ย the store supervisor was emptying outside trash cans when she discovered a “beeping” noise coming from inside the trash can.ย Using robot operations, the responding Bomb Squad determined the beeping noise was coming from two discarded smoke alarms and the store was re-opened after an hour and a half.
