LA PLATA, Md. – Emily Burke, 27, and her sister Shannon, 25, along with their friends Morgan Abresch, 24, and Madison Simon, 23, are the owners of Sublime Soul Shop located at 78 Drury Dr., La Plata.
Sublime is a spiritual store that sells herbs, incense, books, sound healing tools, clothes, crystals, art, jewelry, therapeutic grade essential oils, home decor items, accessories, oracle cards, and so much more.

“I have been involved in the spiritual and paranormal world from a young age, growing up with abilities and having a father who has written books on and been on TV for a variety of paranormal topics, same for my sister, Shannon,” Emily told TheBayNet.com. “I have a degree in Political Science, pre-law track, and was working at a law firm in DC, planning to go to law school before up and quitting because I was ready for a change. I took a few weeks off after my last day and turned down every other job offer that came my way during that time, despite not having a plan. The opportunity to open Sublime Soul with my sister and our two best friends came to us during this time and we decided to go for it.”

Emily also went over other services that Sublimes offers, such as classes.
“We have donation based events every ‘Mindful Monday’ ranging from intuitive movement, guided meditation, intuitive art, and sound baths, we have free monthly meditations on every full moon and other days sometimes, and now we are hosting our largest event ever this Earth Day! A day full of fun, celebration, community, and a vendor fair.”
The Earth Day celebration will take place at Sublime Soul Shop on April 22 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The vendors will range from jewelry, teas, fresh juices, homemade items, pottery, art, fresh baked goods, and more. All of the vendors are local small businesses from the Maryland area.
They will also have life-sized games and family friendly activities, along with a plant making station and face painting.

Emily then went on to explain that her favorite part of running Sublime is helping people and serving their community.
“Holistic healing modalities have changed my life and helped to make me a healthier person,” said Emily. “I know so many others who have used holistic healing methods to heal and reduce issues they were dealing with, it’s incredible. We all want to bring the things that have helped us be better, happier, healthier versions of ourselves to others.”
