La Plata, MD – A house fire occurred yesterday at 12:48 p.m. on Southern Star Place in La Plata, Maryland that resulted in an estimated $700,000 of damage to the structure of the house and an additional $200,000 to the contents contained within the home. The fire engulfed the three story single family home, causing 122 firefighters to arrive on the scene and two alarms to be sounded.
