At 5:29 p.m. March 20, TFC P. Trossbach of the Leonardtown trooper barrack stopped a vehicle for speeding, 68 in a 50 mph zone, on Route 5 at Summerville Lane in Loveville.
On contact with the driver, Richard Ramon Dent, 24, of Mechanicsville, an odor of marijuana was detected.
A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. Found under the driver’s seat was a tin containing marijuana and a smoking pipe.
Dent was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review.
