Patricia Ann Bates

California, MD— On Dec.4 Deputy T. Siciliano of St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 45000 block of Worth Ave in California (Best Buy), for a suspicious incident.

The suspect, Patricia Ann Bates, 32, of Lexington Park, was observed attempting to leave the store without paying for merchandise.

“The staff at BestBuy showed surveillance of the incident and provided me (Siciliano) with the defendant’s description.The defendant was found approximately 50 yards from BestBuy in the same shopping center,” according to court documents. 

Further investigation revealed an outstanding bench warrant for Bates.

According to court documents ” I patted her (Bates) down and did not find anything on her. The defendant stepped out of my vehicle, and I observed a small baggie full of Lorazepam along with a cigarette container containing a crack pipe. The defendant informed me the thirty-seven Lorazepam belonged to her sister.” 

Bates was also wanted recently for escape. 

According to St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office,  the agency “is asking for the public’s assistance locating  Patricia Ann Bates. Bates has an active arrest warrant for violating the terms of pre-trial supervision.” Bates was located on Dec.17 at approximately 9:40 a.m.

Bates was charged with two counts of CDS possession: not marijuana, CDS possession: paraphernalia, contraband in a place of confinement, and a bench warrant for child support.

Bates does not yet have a trial date set yet. Bates faces a maximum jail sentence of eleven years and or a maximum fine of $51,500.
