On May 29 at 7:03 p.m., Charles County Sheriffโ€™s officers responded to the Sunoco located on U.S. 301 in Waldorf for the report that a vehicle had crashed into the building and then left the scene.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the vehicle had caused significant damage to the building.

The sheriffโ€™s office dispatched a lookout for the vehicle and soon after, officers located it in the driveway of a residence on Brewster Road in the nearby Pinefield subdivision.

Donald John Snyder, 34, of Mechanicsville was standing by the vehicle, and investigation revealed he had driven it from the scene for his friend, Ronald Lamarr Briscoe, 37, of Fort Washington, who had been driving the vehicle when the crash occurred.

Snyder was not a passenger in the vehicle, but was in the area during the crash. Officer C. Clevenger charged Snyder with leaving the scene of an accident.

Officers later found Briscoe on Floral Park Road in Brandywine. He was being treated by Prince Georgeโ€™s County emergency medical services personnel for a head injury. Officer A. Sullivan responded there and charged Briscoe with negligent driving and leaving the scene of an accident.

Briscoeโ€™s injuries were not life-threatening and he refused to be transported to a hospital. No one inside the Sunoco was injured. A building inspector responded to the scene and determined the building could remain open.
