Annapolis, MD – Due to the weather conditions in the Chesapeake Bay region from Hurricane Florence and the concern for the safety of all guests from Virginia and the rest of the region, the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay has rescheduled the 2018 Taste of the Chesapeake fundraising event. The new date will be Thursday, September 27th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Crowne Plaza Annapolis.
The Alliance would like to express that our thoughts are with all of our watershed residents who have been evacuated due to this historic storm. As an organization that partners with communities from New York to Virginia, the Alliance is concerned about the safety and well being of all those in the path of the hurricane, and we will be assisting in recovery efforts after Hurricane Florence in our region.
The Alliance’s Executive Director, Kate Fritz, stated, “Our hearts are with the communities in the Chesapeake Bay watershed that are being impacted by Hurricane Florence. The Alliance looks forward to celebrating a rebounding Chesapeake Bay at our rescheduled fundraiser on September 27th. Funds raised at the event will enable us to continue to work with local communities to build more resilient streams and rivers.”
We are grateful to all who support our Taste event, which raises critical funds necessary to support the Alliance’s work in restoring and protecting the lands, rivers, and streams of the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed. We look forward to celebrating our work at the Taste on September 27th.
