On June 21 at 4:24 p.m., officers responded to the Thunderbird Motel at 11050 Crain Highway in Newburg for the report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers were advised the suspect, a 16-year-old, fired a shot from a shotgun in the parking lot of the motel and fled to a room. Officers were also told the suspectโs brother, 16, was with him and had an open warrant. Officers attempted to make contact with the suspects but they refused to open the door. Officers obtained a key to the room where they found the suspects hiding in the attic. Officers also recovered a loaded shotgun in the room.
The 16-year-old was charged with reckless endangerment and his brother was arrested after a computer check revealed he had an open warrant.
