On June 21 at 4:24 p.m., officers responded to the Thunderbird Motel at 11050 Crain Highway in Newburg for the report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers were advised the suspect, a 16-year-old, fired a shot from a shotgun in the parking lot of the motel and fled to a room. Officers were also told the suspectโ€™s brother, 16, was with him and had an open warrant. Officers attempted to make contact with the suspects but they refused to open the door. Officers obtained a key to the room where they found the suspects hiding in the attic. Officers also recovered a loaded shotgun in the room.

The 16-year-old was charged with reckless endangerment and his brother was arrested after a computer check revealed he had an open warrant.
