At 5:08 p.m. on Feb. 14, a 1993 Chevrolet driven by a 17-year-old Waldorf boy was traveling south on McDaniel Road near Middletown Road in Waldorf when the driver swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle. The driver overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle, which subsequently struck a tree.
The driver sustained incapacitating injuries and was flown to a hospital for treatment. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
