LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — Emergency crews responded to a serious crash in Lexington Park Friday afternoon that left one person trapped inside a vehicle after it struck a guardrail.

The incident was reported around 12:49 p.m. on May 1, 2026, in the area of Pegg Road and Westbury Boulevard.

Initial reports indicated a single-vehicle crash with one person unconscious. The situation was later upgraded to a trapped occupant, prompting additional rescue units to respond.

Firefighters worked to free the individual from the vehicle, completing the extrication around 1:05 p.m. The patient was then turned over to EMS and transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.

Emergency communications indicated police on scene reported a possible overdose, though that has not been confirmed.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
