A Lexington Park teenager has been sentenced to 18 months in jail for first-degree assault. Keana Marie Biscoe, 17, was sentenced August 8 in St. Mary’s Circuit Court by Judge Michael Stamm. Biscoe pled guilty to the charge on June 1 in connection with a stabbing incident at the Food Lion in St. Mary’s Square on January 10th of this year. Biscoe, who was 16 at the time, was charged as an adult.
Police issued the following report on the incident: “On January 10, 2012, deputies responded to a fight with a stabbing at Food Lion on Great Mills Road, Lexington Park, Maryland. Investigation revealed three females entered the store and began attacking the victim who was inside. During the attack one of the females produced a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times. A second victim attempted to intervene on behalf of the victim and was also stabbed. After viewing store video surveillance, the three were identified by an officer who recognized them from previous interaction. Keana Marie Biscoe, 16, of Lexington Park, Maryland, was arrested by Deputy Ruest and charged as an adult with two counts of First Degree Assault and two counts of Second Degree Assault. The other two juveniles, ages 15 and 13, from Lexington Park, Maryland were arrested and charged as juveniles with two counts of First and Second Degree Assault. The first victim was flown to Prince Georges Shock Trauma and the second victim was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital. Both victims were treated and have been released from the hospitals.”
Judge Stamm sentenced Biscoe to eight years but suspended the sentence down to the 18 months. She will be on five years’ supervised probation after her release. The judge authorized work release for Biscoe.
