Lighthouse Adventure Cruise: Northern Bay

7:45 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. โ€” Participants will see six lighthouses as they cruise aboard a private charter boat with the museumโ€™s lighthouse expert. The cost is $130; $120 for members. Registration required at least 5 business days in advance. Call 410-326- 2042 ext. 41 to register.

Train in concert with Andy Grammer

Gates open: 6 p.m. Waterside Music Series presents TRAIN live in concert with Andy Grammer at the PNC Waterside Pavilion. Tickets are $56 and $68 (additional fees apply) and available online at www.calvertmarinemuseum.com or by calling 1-800- 787-9454. The museum closes at 3:00 p.m.

Fossil Field Experience

9 a.m. – 2 p.m. โ€” Go to a local beach and explore the fossils of Calvert Cliffs with a trained educator. Get a special tour of the fossil hall. For ages 8 and up. Pre-registration required, $20, includes museum admission. Space is limited. Call 410-326- 2042 ext. 41.

Dee of St. Maryโ€™s Public Sail

2:30 – 4:30 p.m. โ€” ย Sail aboard the Dee and experience the Patuxent River like never before! The boat leaves from the museum dock. Fee is $25 for ages 13 and up, $15 for children 8 โ€“ 12. No children under 8 please. Preregistration required, call 410-326- 2042 ext. 41 to register.

Lore Oyster House Day

1 – 4 p.m. โ€” ย Stop by the J.C. Lore Oyster House in Solomons for on-going activities both in the oyster house and out on the dock. Costumed interpreters will be on site. Try your hand at oyster tonging; learn to tie a towline and coil a rope; tie on an apron and become a shucker; and measure oysters and follow the path an oyster takes through the processing house from the loading dock to the shipping room. Learn oyster anatomy and see the museumโ€™s giant soft sculpture oyster, Rock-E- Feller. Free event.
