The Newtowne Players announce a call for directors for its 2013-2014 season, the tenth anniversary of the theater troupe.

Anyone interested in directing a show listed below should contact the theaterโ€™s Production Committee at newtowneplayersproduction@gmail.com with the following information no later than Sept. 30, 2012:

  • What is your history with directing? (If you are new to directing, tell us what interested you in directing.)

  • What shows are you interested in directing, and why did you choose those shows?

  • What time of the year is best for you to direct (fall, winter, spring or summer)?

List of potential shows follows; the theater will choose its season based on the response from directors.

  • The first show in the season will be a joint Shakespeare production with Historic St. Maryโ€™s City, running the first two weekends at St. Maryโ€™s City and the second two weekends at Three Notch Theatre in Lexington Park. The two choices are Much Ado about Nothing or Twelfth Night.

  • Musical choices: Legally Blonde the Musical, The Music Man or Little Shop of Horrors

  • Drama and comedic choices: Arsenic and Old Lace by Kesseling, Lettice and Lovage by Shaffer, Cookinโ€™ with Gus by Brochu, Barefoot in the Park by Neil Simon, Tribute by Slade, The Childrenโ€™s Hour by Hellman, Agnes of God by Jewison or Dracula: The Vampire Play by Deane and Balderson
