New Censation

Chesapeake Beach, MD – No weather issues Sunday, July 10 on the Chesapeake Bay. It was a great day to recline and savor the musical sounds of the past 30 years. Many others preferred to get up and dance. The latest in Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spas’ 2016 Rock the Dock series featured the Anne Arundel County-based quartet New Censation.

The seasoned entertainers performed covers of some of the 1980s best-remembered music—including the songs of Michael Jackson, Prince and Earth, Wind and Fire; plus more recent favorites by Pharrell Williams, Meghan Trainor and Little Big Town.

The group—which includes vocalist-keyboard player Cyndi Wallman, guitarist-vocalist Roy Wallman and guitarist-vocalist Will Williams—performs steadily at a variety of venues in Maryland, Pennsylvania and other East Coast states. They have also done three European tours.

While their three late afternoon-early evening sets were well-received from the dockside patrons, their intermission mix tape was almost equally as popular. Several shook it up on the dock and in the sand to the Cha Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle and Wobble Baby.

Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa will showcase late 1970s-early 1980s classic rock star Eddie Money Friday, July 15.
