CALVERT COUNTY
Bad Art Night on March 22 (5 pm to 8 pm), located at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, 13470 Dowell Rd, Solomons, MD – It’s an outrageous night of BAD ART MAKING for adults at Annmarie Garden. Guests 21+ are invited to be inspired by the works in our galleries and then undertake some unconventional and unorthodox art-making. We’ll have all the supplies you’ll need to have at it. Finished artwork will be displayed for all and then cast your vote for “The Best of the Worst.” Prizes will be awarded! It’s a great night to let loose, get “creative”, and have some fun! Cash bars and lively music will add to the fun. Grab a friend, come with a group, or just come alone and meet new people and join the fun. **Note: It is best to arrive close to 5 pm so you have plenty of time to create your masterpiece. Judging begins at 7:15. $7/person, members free. You must be 21. Reservations not required, just come.
Otter Trot 5k on March 23 (8 am), located at Calvert Marine Museum, 14200 Solomons Island Rd S, Solomons, MD – Get ready for otterly awesome fun! You’re invited to the inaugural CMMS Otter Trot 5K! Whether you’re sprinting, strolling, or just really into otters, this timed race is for you. Secure your spot by 2/29 to guarantee your t-shirt! If you’re not ready for your ottlerly awesome day to end after the race, head into the museum at 10 a.m. for the museum’s Ottermania event and say hello to our beloved North American River Otters Chessie Grace and Calvert. Proceeds from the 2024 Otter Trot 5K will contribute to building a new enclosure for our beloved North American River Otters Chessie Grace and Calvert. $30 Race Fee + $2.80 Sign-Up Fee; Registration price increases to $40 after February 29, 2024.
Breakfast with the Easter Bunny on March 23 (8 am to 11 am), located at Prince Frederick Volunteer Rescue Squad CO. 4, 755 Solomons Island Rd S, Prince Frederick, MD – Join us for a homemade breakfast including scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, sausage gravy with biscuits, pancakes, and waffles (with all the fixins)! Admission is by donation! Bring your camera or your phone to snap a pic with the Easter Bunny!
Calvert High School Junior Optimist Easter Egg Hunt on March 23 (9 am), located at Calvert High School, 330 Dorsey Rd, Prince Frederick, MD – Join the Calvert High School Junior Optimist Club for their Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Free event open to children, walking – 12 years of age. Egg hunt for four age groups (walking -2, 3-4, 5-7, 8-12). All hunts are held at the same time: 9 am. Please be on time… the “hunt” goes very, very quickly! Bring your basket to collect the eggs, and your phone/camera to take pictures with the Easter Bunny! Egg hunt held on the Calvert High School stadium field. Please park in the back/student parking lot and follow the signs to the Egg Hunt.
Spring Equinox Sip & Shop Market on March 23 (12 pm to 6 pm), located at Mully’s Brewery, 151 Schooner Ln, Prince Frederick, MD – This outdoor market will feature local vendors, artists, authors, food, ax throwing, and craft beers. ST. MARY’S COUNTY
Easter Extravaganza on March 23 (9 am to 6 pm), located at Town Market, 22675 Washington Street, The Bell Bldg Unit 106, Leonardtown, MD – The Easter Bunny will be there and available for pictures. We will have Easter Egg decorating and a raffle for an Easter Basket. We will have vendors there selling all kinds of items for you to purchase. Easter Bunny will be there from 10 am – 4 pm. Mary’s Go Round Petting Zoo will be there from 10 am – 2 pm. Dan D’s Catering will be there serving some of your favorites to eat. See vendors here.
41st Annual Easter Egg Festival on March 23 (11:30 am to 4 pm), located at St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds, 42455 Fairgrounds Rd, Leonardtown, MD – This rain or shine event will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and is open to the entire community. The Easter Festival has become a staple of the Southern Maryland community every Spring and features egg hunts for ages up to 12, visits with the Easter Bunny, live entertainment, free arts and crafts, face painting, and goods and services for sale by local area vendors. For a $5.00 fee, attendees can participate in the egg hunt, visit with Mr. or Mrs. Bunny, enjoy face painting and crafts, and participate in various bunny-approved activities. Live entertainment and lots of good, local food for purchase will also be a part of the festivities.

While making your monkey’s fist, the Maryland Dove crew will inform and demonstrate the traditional purpose of the knot; to serve as a weight at the end of a heaving line.
