Jessica Gibson enjoys
 being a model, but wants
 to do more with her life.

Meet Jessica Gibson, a Nopi Girl, however, she is more than just a model and a world class beauty. The personable 21-year-old woman wants to make a difference in the world around her.

 “I have wanted to act and model ever since I was a young child,” said Gibson. “But, I want to make a difference more than anything.”

 Gibson stated that she once worked with an autistic child and found it very rewarding. In fact she stated that she is looking for more work with another family that needs help looking after an autistic child. “I prefer working with children,” said Gibson. “They are more in need and are not as temperamental as autistic adults.”

 The young model keeps busy with her modeling duties. This weekend she, in her role as Nopi Girl is attending an event in Atlanta, and then she travels to Bristol, TN for the NASCAR event on Sunday. Gibson has graced the covers of a few magazines, acted in a few commercials for different NASCAR drivers – Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson and in four commercials for Michigan International Speedway.

 “The work is seasonal, so I pretty much starve in winter, but I have always wanted to be a model and enjoy the work.” One such

commitment landed her in the pit area of a NASCAR race where she posed for a few pictures with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. “I was working,” she said, “Now there are rumors that we are dating and some of the websites are saying terrible things. I don’t even like Dale, Jr. It was just a job.”

 To date, Gibson has found some success, but her ride to that success has not been the easiest of roads. “I was quite a handful growing up in St. Mary’s County,” said Gibson. She stated that she dropped out of high school at age 16 to pursue modeling. “I went to live with my mother in Texas for a while, but child protective services had to remove me from the home and I came back here to live with my Dad.”

 She admits that she was not the best behaved child, but maintains she figured out her life fairly well. “I basically raised myself,” said Gibson. “My Dad and I are best friends, but he was never really a father figure to me.”
