Three Juveniles Recovering After Being Struck By Gunfire In Annapolis Neighborhood

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Three juveniles were struck by gunfire in Annapolis’ Bywater neighborhood on Friday, May 3, 2024, around 4:20 p.m.

Responding to a report of shots fired at Bywater Road and Copeland St., police and emergency personnel discovered that three juveniles had been shot. The victims were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries and, as of Saturday morning, are reported to be stable and recovering.

Annapolis Police detectives are actively investigating this incident. This alarming event has caused considerable distress within the community, particularly among young people and families.

In response, Anne Arundel County Public Schools has made resources available to affected students. Counselors and other Student Services staff will be on hand at local schools on Monday, and additional staff will be provided as required.
