At approximately 11:06 a.m., on Sunday, May 3, the Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad had a report of an auto accident on Kings Landing Road in Huntingtown.
As most of the Calvert County fire service was attending the Southern Maryland Volunteer Convention in Hughesville, there were back up firefighters from Church Hill filling in at Huntingtown station.
The ambulance from Huntingtown was already on another call in Prince Frederick at Trinity Church which was also manned by Church Hill.
But there were still some volunteers from Huntingtown who were also available to respond to the calls.ย Chief 6 (Riffe), Assistant Chief 6A (Montgomery) and others were still responding to the calls along with the volunteers from Church Hill.
In the head-on collision accident on Kings Landing Road, there were three patients transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital.ย Ambulances from Dunkirk and North Beach VFD were used to transport these patients.
One female patient had reported of back, legs and nose injury and the other female with a very young child was being sent for checkup but had no known injury.
